How to connect ZTE?

As a rule, advanced users do not have problems connecting and configuring ZTE modems. But even experts sometimes have to resort to saved notes in order to remember one or another step of installing a modem.

Therefore, in this article we will tell you how to connect a ZTE modem to a computer so that you can configure the device at any time.

Connecting the modem

To do this you will need the following list of equipment:

  • Computer or switch;
  • Connecting cables;
  • Splitter;
  • ADSL modem.

Let's move on to the connection process:

  1. Turn on your PC and wait for the operating system to load.
  2. Connect the modem to a switch or PC. Take an Ethernet cable and connect it to one of the LAN connectors on the switch or network card in computer.
  3. Connect via a splitter to telephone line your modem. This is done by connecting the connector on the modem, where it says DSL, to the connector on the splitter, where it says MODEM. To do this, use the telephone cable provided with the ZTE modem.
  4. Connect the LINE connector (on the splitter) to a telephone socket. Please note that if you have old-style sockets with five pins, you will need to buy an adapter for a European standard connector.
  5. Connect the cable from your phone to the PHONE connector on the splitter.
  6. The power adapter must be connected to the modem. To do this, take your modem and connect the appropriate cable to the power supply. Press the power button. If everything is connected correctly, after booting three lights on the modem should be on - one of LAN, as well as DSL and POWER.

Setting up a modem to connect to the Internet

Everything is quite simple here. After you connect the zte modem, start setting it up:

  1. Open any of your browsers and enter the IP address of your modem (192.168.1.1) into the command line;
  2. Now we enter the username and password. The default values are admin. This is both a name and a password. Click OK;
  3. Go to the Quick Start section and enter the username and password that your provider provided to you, then click on Connect;
  4. If the connection was successful, you will see the corresponding text on the screen, as well as the Disconnect button;
  5. If you wish, you can change the password and login name for your modem management window. To do this, go to the Management section, write a new name and password and complete the change with the Apply button.

Nowadays, almost everyone who has a PC, laptop or tablet in their home uses the network. We advise you to study the section, which will allow you to understand general rules and recommendations for successful work online.

Today I purchased a ZTE MF-190 USB modem and discovered that it was not possible to connect to the Internet using standard WinXP means. I googled a little and found out that for Beeline you need to enter an additional AT command in the modem settings: AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","internet.beeline.ru" and when connecting, enter the phone number *99# or *99*** 1#, login/password beeline/beeline. When using any of the specified phones I get error 619.

At the same time, it is possible to connect via Megafon’s USB modem without any problems - just no problems at all.

I have no desire to use the “Beeline USB modem” program, and I don’t need it.

Maybe someone has already solved this problem?

Recently the same problem occurred. I decided to unsubscribe despite the fact that the topic is clearly dead.

There are not many dances with a tambourine, but they exist.

So:

1. We will need drivers for the modem. You can take them. I have not used this firewood, so I cannot give a 100% guarantee of operation when using it. I used native firewood taken when installing native software from the modem. They are located in the program folder (the default path is this C:\Program Files\Beeline USB modem\Drivers)

2. You will need a program DC Unlocker. You can take it. It is needed to send AT commands to the modem. You can use any other similar program.

Well, now the actual procedure:

1. Insert the modem into the USB port. The system will detect the modem as a CD drive.

2. Go to “My Computer”, find this same CD, right-click on it and select “Eject”.

4.After installing the drivers. We create a connection using standard XP tools

5.In the modem settings (Device Manager - RMB on the modem - Properties - Additional communication parameters) enter an additional command AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","internet.beeline.ru"

In principle, this could be the end of it, if you’re not too lazy to remove the sd every timeTo avoid this, read on

6.Launch DC-Unlocker. Select ZTE modems and press the button with a magnifying glass.

The result should be something like this:

Modem definition:

selected:

manufacturer - ZTE modems

Found Applications port COM10

Found Diagnostics port COM8

Modem found: MF190

Model: ZTE MF190

IMEI: 861ХХХХХХХХХ017

Firmware version: BD_RUBLNMF190V1.0.0B01

Compile date/time: Sep 03 2010 15:20:42

Chipset: Qualcomm MSM6290

SIM lock status: Unlocked

7. In DC-Unlocker, under the double line, enter the AT command AT+ZCDRUN=8 it deletes the autorun.flg file from the modem, which is responsible for starting the modem as a CD-ROMa. We take out and insert the modem.

After these steps, the connection was created and everything worked, but another problem arose (maybe depends on the hardware). After rebooting or turning off the computer, the modem refused to see the network and the red indicator was on. Everything was decided simply. Registered in DC-Unlocker AT+ZSNT=0,0,0(Set operating mode - auto) and everything worked as it should.
