Books enlighten the soul, elevate and strengthen a person, awaken in him the best aspirations, sharpen his mind and soften his heart.

William Thackeray, English satirist

A book is a huge force.

Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, Soviet revolutionary

Without books, we can now neither live, nor fight, nor suffer, nor rejoice and win, nor confidently move towards that reasonable and beautiful future in which we unshakably believe.

Many thousands of years ago, the book, in the hands of the best representatives of humanity, became one of the main weapons in their struggle for truth and justice, and it was this weapon that gave these people terrible strength.

Nikolai Rubakin, Russian bibliologist, bibliographer.

A book is a working tool. But not only. It introduces people to the lives and struggles of other people, makes it possible to understand their experiences, their thoughts, their aspirations; it makes it possible to compare, understand the environment and transform it.

Stanislav Strumilin, academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences

No the best remedy to refresh the mind, like reading the ancient classics; As soon as you take one of them in your hands, even for half an hour, you immediately feel refreshed, lightened and cleansed, lifted and strengthened, as if you had refreshed yourself by bathing in a clean spring.

Arthur Schopenhauer, German philosopher

Anyone who was not familiar with the creations of the ancients lived without knowing beauty.

Georg Hegel, German philosopher

No failures of history and blind spaces of time are able to destroy human thought, enshrined in hundreds, thousands and millions of manuscripts and books.

Konstantin Paustovsky, Russian Soviet writer

The book is a magician. The book transformed the world. It contains the memory of the human race, it is the mouthpiece of human thought. A world without a book is a world of savages.

Nikolai Morozov, creator of modern scientific chronology

Books are a spiritual testament from one generation to another, advice from a dying old man to a young man beginning to live, an order passed on to a sentry going on vacation to a sentry taking his place.

Without books, human life is empty. The book is not only our friend, but also our constant, eternal companion.

Demyan Bedny, Russian Soviet writer, poet, publicist

A book is a powerful tool of communication, labor, and struggle. It equips a person with the experience of life and struggle of humanity, expands his horizon, gives him knowledge with the help of which he can force the forces of nature to serve him.

Nadezhda Krupskaya, Russian revolutionary, Soviet party, public and cultural figure.

Reading good books is a conversation with the most the best people past times, and, moreover, such a conversation when they tell us only their best thoughts.

René Descartes, French philosopher, mathematician, physicist and physiologist

Reading is one of the sources of thinking and mental development.

Vasily Sukhomlinsky, an outstanding Soviet teacher-innovator.

Reading is for the mind what physical exercise is for the body.

Joseph Addison, English poet and satirist

Good book- like a conversation with an intelligent person. The reader receives from her knowledge and a generalization of reality, the ability to understand life.

Alexei Tolstoy, Russian Soviet writer and public figure

Do not forget that the most colossal weapon of multifaceted education is reading.

Alexander Herzen, Russian publicist, writer, philosopher

Without reading there is no real education, there is and cannot be any taste, no speech, no multifaceted breadth of understanding; Goethe and Shakespeare are equal to a whole university. By reading a person survives centuries.

Alexander Herzen, Russian publicist, writer, philosopher

Who wants to tickle their nerves: go to the section Sergey Tarmashev, some of which became my series, not included in the “Ancient” series. Since then, all my worlds have been independent; the chronological connection between them has been broken, but the cause-and-effect relationship remains. Therefore, you should not look for direct penetration of one world into another, and also ask the question: “In what order are they built?” But in one form or another, in most cases covertly, they all intersect with each other. I did not remove these connections, because there is a hidden meaning in them, which is completely unnecessary to know, since not everyone will be interested in it, and I try not to overload people with unnecessary information. For some, my books may simply be entertaining literature from the fantasy genre, and I will also be very happy about this - every reader who buys books is valuable to me.

Now about “Ancient-7” itself. When I made the continuation of the trilogy “Catastrophe. Corporation. War,” I planned that there would also be three books: “Invasion. Pay. Revival". However, the volume of “Renaissance” exceeded all conceivable boundaries, namely, it reached the volume of two large, or even three small books. Therefore, in order not to release the ledger for sale at a terrible price (books are already quite expensive), it was decided to make a seventh book, which will include everything that did not fit in “Renaissance”, as well as the ending itself. Therefore, “Ancient-7” should be perceived as the end of “Renaissance”, but not as an independent book. I hope you like it. This concludes the current chronological segment of the saga, and the “Ancient One”, approved for publication, ends. Whether or not to continue - I will decide no earlier than in two years, based on your wishes. Until then there will be no “Ancient One”. Just like last time, the saga must stand the test of time.

"...The enemy is dangerous, that, shaking his weapon, he has despised the borders of our lands and is marching in merciless war on the sacred lands of the Dra people." a smile on his lips comes in the guise of an unfortunate wanderer. For he, exuding flattery and friendliness, without any battle, occupies our land as if it were his own, and he multiplies among us, and multiplies freely and without measure. own land places for the people of Dra"O, and strangers sit on the thrones of merchants and statesmen, and their false commandments, like an invisible worm, strive to drain the Sacred Laws of the Ancestors into rotten dust and cloud the minds of our children with alien faith and customs. Such enemies must be killed without delay, without mercy, and a thousand times greater than those who do not hide their enmity..."

INTELLIGENCE SERVICE

Milky Way Galaxy, living space of the T"Hassmoa race, Sh"Urosank system, on board the reconnaissance ship of the Riul civilization, maximum loading mode of refractive fields, May 17, 3265 p.m. to the common time of the Commonwealth.

The enemy patrol ships were rapidly approaching, and calculations showed that their course would take them some fifty ladrangs from the hidden scout. Almost exactly by cosmic standards, at such a distance gravity sensors can feel even such an insignificant attraction that is created by the small mass of the spy boat. Joakaris instinctively held his breath and again looked at the readings of numerous instruments, making sure for the sixth time that all the ship's systems were working properly. But his fears were in vain: the equipment of the Ancient People functioned perfectly as always, and the level of reliability of human technology never ceased to amaze the experienced pilot. He had been hanging one and a half million ladrangs from the local sun above the ecliptic plane for the thirty-seventh day, continuously monitoring the enemy using all means available in passive mode. And still not one of the numerous patrols that comb multiple times every day solar system, never even suspected his presence.

The operation to infiltrate spy ships into enemy worlds was developed by the Human General Staff under the leadership of the Great One himself, and any of the Riul officers who took part in its implementation appreciated with great respect the unattainable professionalism of the Ancient Warriors of the Commonwealth. Every minute of the operation was thought out second by second, thoroughly and down to the smallest detail, up to a dozen different options for possible unforeseen developments. More than two hundred thousand reconnaissance ships of the allied fleets, united in four regiments, simultaneously went into a hyperjump at maximum speed, which could not go unnoticed by the enemy’s tracking systems. Each regiment followed its own goal - the enemy space of one of the civilizations participating in the Alliance. The goal of the unit, which included Ioakaris's ship, was the vital territories of the T'Hassmoa race. It was impossible to launch directly from the Death Nebula with so many vehicles, and therefore the regiment was first taken outside its borders, for which the Riul fleet fought a desperate battle with the combined flotillas of the Gredrinnians and T"Hassmoa. Their squadrons, prowling around the Nebula, became stronger and more numerous every week, and this diversion was necessary for successful start reconnaissance operation.

While the fleet’s warriors heroically fought against three times the enemy’s superior forces, to which powerful squadrons of reinforcements immediately rushed from all nearby enslaved systems, a regiment of spy ships managed to reach a section of space free from enemy influence unnoticed. The scouts were able to regroup, carry out a brief restoration of the hyperdrive resource and make sure that the equipment was in good working order before the enemies reacted to such a large combat formation of the Riuls, which suddenly found itself outside the protection of the Death Nebula. The regiment went into hyper a quarter of an hour before the arrival of the first enemy squadrons and immediately developed the maximum possible speed. There was no doubt that at the end of the forty-day jump, at the point of entry into real space, huge forces of enemies would already be waiting for them, whose analysts would unmistakably determine the final point of the regiment’s route based on such powerful disturbances in hyperspace.

A few words about the world of The Ancient One. The saga of the Ancient One originally spanned a period of one million years and began many hundreds of millennia before the present day. Later, for various reasons, it had to be divided into several different worlds, some of which became my series, not included in the “Ancient” cycle. And so far, not one of the numerous patrols that repeatedly comb the solar system every day has ever even suspected his presence.

Enemies do not always take someone else's land by force and destroy its inhabitants. The most insidious ones know how to take on any disguise. And it makes no difference whether they come with iron in their hands, or unarmed, with a smile on their lips and friendly speeches in order to win without any battle. Enemies must be recognized before it is too late. The leader of the Human race, Alex the Thirteenth, knows the lessons of history well: the Universe has seen the tragedy of more than one people. However, the Commander knows something else too well: to disrupt the natural course of events and gain secret knowledge that gives absolute power - perhaps if you have a good goal: to save your species from invaders. But nothing is given to anyone for free; sooner or later the moment of reward will come for everyone.
But only the winner pays for everything.
